Professional Background

Colleen has a Masters of Social Work and is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). With a deep experience in family systems, Colleen is passionate about helping adults make changes in their lives to reduce suffering and increase joy and happiness. Clients can expect a kind, supportive, flexible, and non-judgmental experience and will be immediately put at ease with her casual, conversational approach to discussing the difficulties that life presents.

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs leaving us feeling overwhelmed and questioning our direction. Colleen takes a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to her work and specializes in supporting clients who are struggling with issues such as: anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, managing stress, emotion regulation, relationship issues, sexuality, and navigating life transitions (career changes, loss and bereavement, divorce, co-parenting).

Colleen believes that each client is the expert of their own life. She sees her role as providing support to help clients uncover empowering insights that help them heal and move forward with confidence. She offers a tailored approach to therapy using a variety of formal therapeutic techniques including: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Self-Compassion (MSC), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Grief Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available. Colleen offers a 30-minute free consultation to ensure fit.
