Counsellor

Professional Background

Maggie has a Masters of Social Work and is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Maggie is passionate about helping individuals and families develop secure, trusting relationships with themselves and others. Her approach incorporates attachment theory, child development research and neuroscience.

She works with pre-teens, teens, and individual adults, as well as parents of children under 10 years old. She has a special connection to Millennial clients, specifically, high achieving, chronically stressed, overthinkers who struggle to connect with their emotions & needs.

Maggie provides a non-judgmental space filled with humour, curiosity, acceptance, and empathy. She collaborates with clients on reaching their goals one step at a time.

Maggie takes a trauma-informed and relational approach to her work and specializes in supporting clients with issues such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Self Criticism
  • Burn Out & Chronic Stress
  • Emotional and Behavioral Issues
  • Parenting / Child & Youth Mental Health

Maggie is trained in a number of therapeutic techniques, but relies most heavily on attachment-focused therapies such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). This means that she prioritizes learning about her client’s life experiences and how they impact their nervous systems today. Clients will learn to better navigate moments that trigger unhelpful patterns and to move through daily stressors in healthy ways.

Both in-person and virtual appointments are available. Maggie offers a 30-minute free consultation to ensure fit.
