The Solar Plexus (528 Hz) – Confidence, Purpose and Fulfillment
A blazing yellow sun is a great way to visualize the solar plexus chakra. It is our personal power centre, storing information about our talents, gifts, and what we are here to share with the world. Located just above the navel, the solar plexus is the third of the 7 main chakras and has a reference frequency of 528 Hz.
A well-functioning solar plexus allows us to be confident in our individuality, acknowledge our talents and abilities, and direct our energy in such a way that we feel fulfilled in all that we do. Associated with the adrenal glands, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, stomach, and small intestine, this chakra is our internal battery that generates our unique flavour of energy to power our endeavours, ambitions and excitement for life.
Feeling lethargic, low energy and like we have nothing of value to contribute to the world usually indicates that the solar plexus is stuck in a closed position on the back. When energy is not allowed to flow into this centre, it can be difficult to take compliments to heart and really feel that they are true about ourselves, even if we are getting validation from many sources. Adrenal fatigue and burnout are closely tied to this energetic state and are common among individuals working in corporate, academic or other high-stress positions.
A solar plexus stuck in the closed position on the front will not allow personal energy to be used in ways that fulfill us or bring us joy, even if we have that energy to use. This can present as having little to no ambition or interest in pursuing activities that challenge us and lead to personal development and growth. Another common occurrence at this centre on the front is the fragmentation of energy, where the individual has difficulty focusing on one specific task and experiences overwhelm leading to a sense of failure or lack of accomplishment.
Diet plays a big role in the functionality of this centre, as the energetic make-up of the food we eat determines how much energy we are able to extract and use to fuel ourselves. Choosing organic, locally grown produce and meat that has been raised in a healthy and respectful way is one of the best ways to support this centre. The cultivation of a strong microbiome is also necessary to break down the food and convert it into molecules that are bioavailable and easy for us to absorb and use effectively.
Affirmations such as “I am worthy” or “I can do this” can be very helpful in strengthening the solar plexus. Exercise is another great way to re-affirm our power as individuals and challenge our limitations in a tangible way. Recommended sound tools to use for this centre are shakers or rattles to stir up the energy and give the battery a “boost”. Combine shaking and affirmations with music and dance to stack the benefits of these practices!
