Matthew studied at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese medicine and has over 13 years of experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. He first became interested in acupuncture having gone through his own recovery from acute migraine and muscle spasm symptoms which did not respond to any other form of treatment. From this experience, he was inspired to pursue the medicine to help others improve their health, reduce their pain and enjoy the quality of life that they desire.
Previous to practicing at Oakville Massage and Wellness Clinic, Matthew has provided palliative care at Dorothy Ley Hospice, has been an Instructor at the Toronto School Traditional Chinese Medicine and a teacher/therapist for students with learning disabilities for 7 years. In addition to his medical practice, Matthew has pursued martial arts since childhood and has a deep knowledge of body movements, body system interactions, breathing exercises and philosophies that affect how the body performs, suffers from stress and heals itself. Matthew has developed a successful and integrated approach to treating injuries and diseases by stimulating the body’s natural healing responses. He believes strongly in approaching the body with the minimal amount of intervention for the most results. His unique background allows for the treatment of the whole body and root causes of imbalances that lead to injury, not just the symptoms. Due to his own personal experiences, Matthew has developed an effective and efficient system for the treatment of head and body pain, migraines, joint pain, and stress. As well as these treatments, Matthew continues to treat daily patients for many other issues such as digestive, skin, sleep, fertility and reproductive disorders.
